About This App

Akhbar Al Arab (أخبار العرب) is a news aggregator app that displays headlines and summaries from public Arabic news RSS feeds and YouTube video content via the YouTube Data API v3 and YouTube RSS feeds.

Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary for the app to function:

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) Token — An anonymous device identifier used solely to deliver push notifications (breaking news alerts). This token does not contain your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.
Advertising Data (Google AdMob) — Our app displays ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy:
- Advertising ID (device identifier for ad personalization)
- Approximate location (IP-based, for regional ad targeting)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

We do NOT collect:

Your name, email address, or phone number
Precise GPS location
Contacts, photos, or files
Browsing history or app usage analytics

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your device and never sent to our servers:

Saved articles (bookmarks)
App settings — theme preferences, notification settings
Cache — temporary data to speed up content loading

Push Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send breaking news notifications. You can enable or disable notifications at any time from the app settings or your device system settings.

YouTube Content

This app uses the YouTube Data API v3 and public YouTube RSS feeds to display live news broadcasts and video clips.

Video metadata is fetched via public YouTube RSS feeds; live stream detection uses the YouTube API
When watching video content, YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy apply
We do not collect any data about your viewing history or video interactions

Advertising

This app displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google's advertising SDK may collect anonymized data to serve relevant ads. You can control ad personalization through your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads). See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. The only third-party service that may collect data through our app is Google AdMob, as described above.

Your Right to Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of any data associated with your device:

Disable notifications in the app settings — this stops all data collection immediately

Upon request, we permanently delete your FCM token from our servers immediately.

Data Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
